Why Wood
Woodwork is physical, direct, and grounded in the material in front of you. The grain affects the cut. Colour and figure shape the finished piece. No two lengths of timber arrive exactly alike, and that natural variation remains visible in the work.
The standard is straightforward: make something useful, make it carefully, and leave out what it does not need. That means a focused catalogue, clear descriptions, and pieces released when they are ready rather than produced to fill a schedule.
About Adam
Adam is the Australian maker behind Oak Rd Studios. The workshop is intentionally small, keeping the distance between selecting the material, making the object, photographing it, and sending it to its new home as short as possible.
Small Batches
Available work is listed in the shop in small quantities. Timber colour, grain, and figure naturally vary, so the piece received will share the listed material and design without being visually identical to every photograph.
As new kinds of work become ready, they will join the catalogue. The shop should remain small enough for every object in it to have a reason to be there.
